Tea tree oil falls in the category of an essential oil.  Like many of these amazing oils, there is often a medicinal benefit to their use.  Tea Tree oil is a great essential oil and can be used in very small qualities.

Tea tree oil can be applied to skin or household surface as a disinfectant. One idea is to replace bleach as a disinfectant in your home.  Make your own disinfectant by mixing 2 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of liquid soap and 20 to 30 drops of tea tree oil. It's easy!

I had a great question come in the other day.  I was asked how you can do a Green cleaning program with bleach.  My first response was to write back that "This is impossible.  Bleach simply isn't Green!"  But, let me be fair.

Your grandmother, and probably your great-grandmother, cleaned with vinegar.  So, the idea is that this is "Old School" is not a debatable issue.  Vinegar is one of those love/hate products.  Some people absolutely love it, and others want to ignore it whenever possible.

So, it can be said without apology, "Vinegar Smells!"  But, there is a very good reason to see this as a positive factor.  The vinegar smell will quickly go away, but it will take away a number of the smells along with it.

In one of those free moments you have for productive thought, consider the impact of all those plastic bottles that we all use and throw out each week.  It may not seem too concerning if you were the only person in the world, but your not.  Calculate the number of bottles per year being used by 7 billion people worldwide.  Don't forget to add in all the companies out there doing the same.

You probably never give much thought to the trash bags that you buy, but let's change that mistake right away. Trash bags come in all kinds of shapes and sizes.  The thickness is meaningful for different types of trash to prevent breakouts.

Most plastic bags are made from virgin plastic, which means we are pulling millions of gallons of oil to get the necessary plastic for TRASH BAGS!  When you do the math and add up all the trash bags being use, it is simply staggering.

First of all, bacteria is the enemy for smelly shoes.  If possible, you need to own two or three pairs of shoes that can by cycled throughout the week.  Let your shoes dry out for at least a day. 

Cedar wood show forms will help keep them in shape and reduce odors.

Finally, don't spray your shoes with sprays.  This will exposre your feet to thiese ingredients for the whole day.  Try talcum powder prior to putting on your shoes.

This makes about 2 cups of formula, and it works really well cleaning dirt and grime.

• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda or washing soda
• 2 teaspoons borax
• 1/2 teaspoon liquid soap or detergent
• 2 cups hot water

Combine all the ingredients and the water into a spray bottle. Shake well. The washing soda or baking soda makes this formula a great grease cutter.
