Ask a Green Question

Okay, it's your turn.  I will post the best questions and suggested on this page.  All you have to do is email your question or suggest to me (candace (at) naturallygreenclean.org)

Q: What should use during flu season to clean my house if I get rid of my bleach?

A: We all know that bleach kills germs.  So does battery acid.  Flu is not a strong germ outside the body.  Soap and water will kill it, vinegar and lemon juice can be used.  You can buy an inexpensive steam unit and really sanitize your home.

Q. I hear fertilizing the lawn will impact my home.  Is that true?

A: Yes, it does if you have kids.  Thirty days after applying fertilizer to your yard, there is more of that stuff in your carpet than on your lawn.  Fertilizer and pesticides on the lawn are bad for you yard, bad for your family, and bad for the environment.

Q. Is there a difference in vacuum choice that I should know?

A. Yes, You will want to find a HEPA vacuum is better than most regular vacuums.  HEPA vacuums remove dirt and pollen from the air. Most of us have seen the cloud a dust after vacuuming when the light shines through.

Q.Do Green produsct always cost more?

A. Yes and No.  The more the public purchase the Green versions, the more the price will go down.  Secondly, if the product does cost more, you need to ask questions.  A concentrate is a Greener idea and dilutes to make more product.  That is savings!  We should not forget that some products have other hidden and hurtful costs ... like disposal of the plastic bottle or harm to our family.

Q. Can you suggest a Green disinfectant?

A. Yes.  Try one of the steam cleaning tools.  These use water and a handy wand that cuts through dirt an grease.  The temperature will kill bacteria, virus, and get rid of bed bugs.

A. Try www.GreenJanitor.net.  This is probably the best list of Green janitorial firms in the country.
